If there's anything that basically defines high-concept, it's the genie story, an idea that has been tossed round and round for centuries and never changes much beyond "rub the lamp, get three wishes, things go awry from there." So when Variety reports that Walden Media is planning an update of the genie story and will turn it into a buddy comedy, but say the plot is being kept under wraps, I'm just confused. Isn't that the whole plot right there?

Jordan Kerner will produce the film, following up on his successful Charlotte's Web adaptation and currently working on his plans to destroy your childhood with the Smurfs movie. Just thoughtyou ought to keep that in mind lest you allow yourself to start trusting this guy.
