I still wish Clive Owen had been the new James Bond instead of Daniel Craig, but the Children of Men star is about to get another shot at playing an international spy. The Hollywood Reporter says Clive has been cast in a new thriller called The Internationl, where he’ll play an obsessive Interpol agent.
Clive’s agent character leads an investigation into an all powerful banking institution in an attempt to expose connections to weapons sales, corruption, and murder. As he comes up against resistance from his own law enforcement agency, his obsession for the case deepens. Alright, it’s not so much a spy movie. The character sounds more like Hans Blitz than James Bond. Doesn’t sound like he’ll have many gadgets, or even a cool car. But for Clive, this may be as close as he gets. I just hope he gets to wear a nice suit. As long as he doesn’t have to ride a horse, I still haven’t forgotten King Arthur Clive.
