It's common knowledge that Clive Owen was very much in the running to be the new James Bond, and was passed over for that hunk of man Daniel Craig. So now Owen seems intent on proving that he's just as much international man of mystery as the next guy. He's already starring in the upcoming thriller The International, and now he's on board for Catagena, an adventure about an undercover drug agent investigating Colombian cartels.
THR says Turistas writer Michael Ross will handle the screenplay, which tells us... well, nothing. What can the possible connection between these stories? Either way, Clive Owen will be involved, which means people like me will be seeing it pretty much no matter what. I wish Owen didn't feel he had so much to prove in terms of badassery, and would take on roles that were just a bit more varied. But still, Clive Owen tracking down bad guys? I refuse to complain.
