In case you were celebrating New Years Eve in some cool fashion that didn’t involve watching Ryan Seacrest host Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, you missed the latest in the onslaught of Cloverfield trailers. No worries – there’s not really anything here you haven’t seen before. It’s all here – the party for Rob, the girl yelling “What is that!?” and the pending decision of whether the five friends the movie follows will die in tunnels or die in the streets.
Just in case you want to see the same footage spliced together in another way, the exclusive commercial is now available on YouTube. Take a look. Debate whether the infected girl explodes, or whether she’s a carrier for offspring, a la Alien.
I do want to see Cloverfield, but I must admit I’m a little tired of the continuing flood of television commercials that are just edited differently. I think the count is up to at least eleven now. Is there some secret clue we’re all missing based on the voice over and text for each commercial, or did they really create this many different versions of the same commercial?
