Colin Farrell seems to be in search of the ethnicity best suited to his romantic brand of chemistry. Things didn't work out so well with his Bactrian Princess or Macedonian Prince in Alexander and his go round with an American Indian in The Lost World wasn't so hot either. Now he's making a run for the border as he pairs up with Salma Hayek for an Anglo/Mexican pair up in next month's Ask The Dust.

Based on the John Fante novel, Dust follows an Italian writer (Farrell) in search of inspiration in the form of a hot, white blonde. Camilla Lopez (Hayek) also seeks true love, but her vision is of a WASP ready to share his bed and his last name. When the two get together it would hardly seem a match made in heaven (try depression-era Los Angeles).

The movie, directed and written by Robert Towne, also stars Donald Sutherland and Eileen Atkins and hits theaters March 10.
