Colin Hanks Joining Seth Rogen And Barbra Streisand In My Mother's Curse![]()
It's still hard to know what to make of My Mother's Curse, the upcoming road trip comedy that's assembled quite possibly the most random group of talent imaginable: Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand as the main mother-son pair, Chuck's Yvonne Strahovski as Rogen's old high school flame, and The Proposal director Anne Fletcher to pull it all together. Now the cast has gotten just that much more diverse, though also more talented. THR reports that Colin Hanks has joined the cast, playing the husband of Strahovski's character; the two let Rogen and Streisand crash with them for the night when the mother and son get caught in a blizzard on their way to reuniting mom with a lost love.
Hanks, who is of course the son of Tom, has thus far been more notable on TV than the movies-- he had memorable recurring roles on Mad Men and Numbers, starred on The Good Guys and will pop up on Dexter next season as a man suspected of a string of murders. He may never quite become the iconic actor that his father is, and who knows if he really wants to-- he's carving out a nice niche for himself as a character actor with a broad range, who can fit right into a cast even as strange as My Mother's Curse. The movie just started shooting and he starts Dexter in June, so presumably it's a small enough role to have him off the set fairly soon. |
