Comic Con 2011: First Image From Ridley Scott's Prometheus
Ridley Scott’s much anticipated return to the Alien universe, Prometheus, has been under the microscope recently with people watching closely for any tidbit of information. The man who created the Alien franchise returning to the series with help from the creator of one of the greatest TV shows of all time? What’s not to be excited about?
Last week a few behind the scenes images landed , but today we have your very first official look at Prometheus. Click the image to embiggen.
The photo, as expected, doesn’t give anything away, but the weather looks eerily like the planet LV-426, the planet the Nostromo first lands on in Scott’s 1979 original. Fox had us remove the behind the scenes images that appeared earlier this week, but if you remember the piece of human tech from the images, you can see some similar pistons over to the right of this one. The behind the scenes shot showed a busted piston with charred, frayed metal so we may be seeing a shot from earlier in the film. The image premiered at Comic-Con today and no explanation was given with it. But it’s clear to us that Ridley Scott has been making effective use of Iceland and its rugged terrain to recreate the tone from Alien.
