Those of you who are still obsessing over the untitled JJ Abrams project sometimes known as Cloverfield were probably hoping that since he’s been at the San Diego Comic Con this weekend, he might drop some knowledge about his big mystery film. Well forget it. Abrams did speak about 01-18-08 aka Cloverfield, but only to tell us that he’s not telling us anything.

The video below is his minute and fifty second speech on the subject. In it, he does confirm that the film is a monster movie, but offers nothing else except to tell us that we haven’t figured out the title. He does make it clear that the movie’s not called Monstrous, and hints that none of the other titles we’ve been throwing around for it are correct either. I’m going to take a page from Prince, and just start calling the thing by a symbol. Ready for it? Here it is: ?. That should cover it.
