Comic Con: First Clips Of Wolverine!

Comic Con: First Clips Of Wolverine! One of the things that makes me most jealous of Comic Con attendees is all the celebrity appearances they get to enjoy. Our Ed Perkis, for example, was at a panel today when Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance, armed with clips from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Given that the movie is based on a comic book character and has been filming for months, we still know strikingly little about the plot. But Ed’s here with a little more information… and I mean a little.

Apparently much of what Ed called the trailer focuses on the relationship between Logan (Jackman) and Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber), when the two were friends in the military before the superpowers kicked in. Apparently at some point the two are kidnapped by Stryker (Danny Huston), and somewhere along the line they morph into Wolverine and Sabretooth, as well as becoming arch enemies. The transformation into Wolverine is depicted, and I quote Ed here, “where he’s in a tub of water and he jumps out, he’s all raged up.” I wonder if it’s the same tub of water James McAvoy spent half of Wanted lying in?

Gambit was also probably part of the trailer, but the details on that are still fuzzy. Ed will probably chime in with a longer report later today, hopefully aided by Josh, the resident X-Men expert. But that’s the early word on what you’ll see when Wolverine hits theaters next year.
