Comic Con: IMAX Execs Hoping To Show Tron 2, The Hobbit On Giant Screens Earlier today we told you here about plans to show Where the Wild Things Are in glorious IMAX format. But during the same special IMAX presentation by the top brass, President of Filmed Entertainment Greg Foster told us what they hope to be showing off big in the coming year.

Mind you, this is not a list of done deals, but when IMAX guys say they're hoping for something, they'll probably get it. Foster rattled off a list of some of the most anticipated upcoming films, including Tron 2, Spider-Man 4, Shrek Goes Fourth, Dreamworks Animation's Oobermind, Zack Snyder's Guardians of Ga'hool, and Guillermo del Toro's The Hobbit, which probably got the biggest gasp from the crowd. There were also some obvious choices: the final two Harry Potter movies will almost definitely be on there, and if Kung Fu Panda and Happy Feet did IMAX, you can bet their sequels will.

The whole idea of the IMAX presentation was to promise the assembled members of the press that we'll be seeing lots, lots more movies on IMAX. So while you can count on most of the upcoming tentpoles making it on the giant screen, now you have a few specifics to look forward to.
