Comic Con Scoop: Watchmen Going IMAX

By Katey Rich: 2008-07-23 19:53:09
Comic Con Scoop: Watchmen Going IMAX First big news from Comic Con, though it’s old news for Internet rumor watchers. Warner Bros. has confirmed that they will be releasing Watchmen in IMAX next spring, via text messages sent to Comic Con attendees. They’re offering attendees the chance to win tickets to an IMAX screening, which is probably a good thing; now that we know it’ll be showing on that giant screen, tickets will probably start selling out tomorrow.

Cinematical reported a rumor of the Watchmen going IMAX, based on the fact that the trailer screened in IMAX format before showings of The Dark Knight on the giant screen. I saw Dark Knight in IMAX but at a critic’s screening, where there are no trailers. So, what did I miss? Does Watchmen seem worthy of filling up your entire eyeball? Based on what I saw in my puny regular screen trailer, I have to say “Hell yes!”

Stay tuned for more scoops from Comic Con, reported as soon as we hear ‘em out in San Diego.
