Usually we have the cast for most big Hollywood blockbusters sorted out long before filming, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Iron Man 2. They started shooting yesterday and we’re still learning whose in it. Yesterday IESB broke the news that Garry Shandling is involved and playing a Senator and now today they’ve discovered that Gary Oldman is in the film as well.

No word yet on who he might be playing or whether it’s even a significant role. IESB theorizes that he could be stepping into the role of Tony’s father Howard Stark, the part Tim Robbins was once rumored for. Or maybe Jon Favreau is planning some sort of shocking, Batman/Iron Man crossover? Probably not.

Update! JoBlo got hold of Gary's manager who told them there is no truth to the rumors that Gary Oldman is in Iron Man 2. Cross this rumor off the list.
