Connie Nielsen And Harry Lennix Offered Roles In Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel As Well?![]()
That's right, folks. We already have another Superman story for you. Just a few minutes ago it was reported that Russell Crowe is now in talks to play Jor-El, Superman's Kryptonian father in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but now we have even more. In that report it was said that the production is also looking for a known actress to play Lara, Superman's biological mother. Looks like somebody at Warner Bros. popped a copy of Gladiator into the Blu-ray player this weekend.
The Facebook page "Superman: Man of Steel (2012)" (via Latino Review) has posted what they are saying is a clipping from a copy of Production Weekly that says that offers are currently out to both Connie Nielsen and Harry Lennix for parts in Man of Steel. While Lennix's role is unspecified, it says that Nielsen is up for the part of Lara. Should she accept the role, it would be the second time that she's worked with Crowe, having played Lucilla in Ridley Scott's Gladiator. It should be noted that the Facebook page doesn't appear to be in any way affiliated with the actual production. When the previous report said that they were looking for a big name actress I assumed that they would be going for someone with A-list status, but you're not going to hear any complaints from me about this. As small as Jor-El's role is, Lara's role is even smaller, so it doesn't really make sense to spend millions on someone who will likely get less than 10 minutes of screen time. So, again, I'll throw it to you: thoughts on Connie Nielsen as Lara? Who do you think Harry Lennix will play? Discuss. |
