Cordelia Chase Is Now Expendable![]()
The Expendables is lining up to be one of the most impressive action movies of all time. With a cast that brags Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundgren (not to mention that on-again off-again rumor of Ahnold putting in an appearance), how could it not absolutely rock? For all of those muscles, however, there’s not much out there for male viewers in the way of “sexy,” and you know you have to have some sexy women for an action flick to truly excel. It sounds like the movie may have found that, in the form of one of my favorite television babes.
TV Guide is reporting that Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumn Charisma Carpenter is joining the cast of The Expendables. The actress hasn’t done much outside of the realm of television, but it sounds like she’s making the leap into the action flick, where she will play Jason Statham’s hot girlfriend. Here’s hoping she gets abducted or turns into the big bad of the movie - something a little more substantial than a couple of clips of her in bed with Statham. Carpenter is best known for the role of Cordelia Chase on Buffy (and, subsequently, Angel) where she got the chance to look good and kick butt on several occasions. I’ve always been surprised movie directors weren’t grabbing her up to do more - hell, if Sarah Michelle Gellar could get theatrical work, Carpenter should be getting so many offers she’s turning people down. I hope this is the start of something great for the former Cordelia. News found courtesy of Cinematical. |
