Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of things which really suck. He likes Grindhouse movies, which were mainly infamous for being awful. He liked John Travolta, back when he was really awful too. And apparently, he’s a big fan of the 2 Coreys, Feldman and Haim who let’s face it, while good at being on magazine covers were really pretty awful when it came to actually acting.

So far, QT has managed to turn his blind adoration for things which are terrible into some pretty great films. Most of his movies in some way pay homage to things which aren’t any good, but in the process of playing homage he usually manages to filter out all the crap out of them and deliver an idealized version of the way those things look in his head, instead of the way they actually are on screen. It worked so well for John Travolta that for a brief period after his appearance in Pulp Fiction, we actually thought he could act. He can’t, but Tarantino did a pretty damned good job of delivering an idealized version of John Travolta which seemed like it could. Really though, it was just his own unique brand of QT special effects.

I mention Corey Feldman, because there’s been a rumor going around that he might somehow end up in Inglorious Bastards. MovieWeb first started spreading it last week, but don’t bother dwelling on it because it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. The guys over at Moviehole managed to get a word with Feldman, who they asked about the Inglorious Bastard rumors. Feldman says he hasn’t received an official offer from Tarantino. Has he received an unofficial one? He doesn’t say, but it doesn’t seem very likely. With Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Simon Pegg, and the Temp from The Office, the Inglorious Bastards cast is weird enough. Tarantino should probably stop a minute and cast someone who can actually act. Much as I love the Feldster, that’s not him.
