Costner’s Swing Vote

Everyone’s favorite part-man, part-fish is still webbing his way across Hollywood. This time, Kevin Costner has decided that the next film he’ll ruin will be the indie election comedy Swing Vote, says Variety.

Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, the story focuses on a single father catapulted into the national spotlight when his vote will decid the Presidential election. While this is all well and good for Hollywood drama, everyone knows that the President is actually elected by the Electoral College and that the popular vote merely elects the state elector who then votes for the president.

The film based on a common misunderstanding of the electoral process, will be the first project to come from Costner and Jim Wilson’s new production company, Treehouse Films.

"Treehouse will give me (the) opportunity to shepherd projects from the ground up, with the goal of aligning partners of a like mind," Costner says. "Swing Vote fits right into that mold.”

"Kevin wants to make sure he can control projects that are dear to him and may not fit within the traditional studio system," Wilson translated. "And he wants to make sure there is a model for that which makes sense."

So far, which part of any of this is making sense?

I just saw kevin costner at the bass pro shop warehouse in springfield mo, and the way he described the movie...i think it will be fantastic. He said he plays drunk, and constantly wears a baseball cap (go figure) with the bass pro shop's logo on it.

I cant wait!!!!!

I actually just got casted in this film. As an extra. I will play a vendor in a rally. I enjoy Costner's acting and all of the movies I have seen him in. Being in a movie is going to be a lot of fun and potentialy a doorway to bigger rolls.

This is Awesome! I am sitting in my office looking out the window watching the crew set up for Kevin Costners movie, which is being taped at a sister property Warren Sandia!!!! I love his movies, he is an exceptional actor!!!! Years ago, my brother help make the set for his movie Waterworld which was taped in Hawaii...
