Countdown To The New Grindhouse Trailer![]()
At this point, we all know that Quentin Tarantino is a hack. There isn’t an original idea or shot in his movies that aren’t a reference to some better movie. Thankfully, it’s gotten to the point where we can all come to terms with Tarantino ripping off cinema’s greats and having some fun. Case in point, Grindhouse - a title that makes no bones about which genre Tarantino is emulating this time. You’ve seen the teaser trailer, now count down the seconds until the new, full-fledged trailer hits Yahoo! Thursday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. EST.
In true grind house, double feature fashion, Tarantino enlisted the help of director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) to helm the second feature. While Tarantino is often enamored with his own cleverness, Rodriguez has never hidden behind a façade of pretentiousness and has always been about making fun movies. In Rodriguez’s Planet Terror, zombie-like town’s folk are picked off by a group of mercenaries, including woman whose leg is replaced with an automatic weapon. Tarantino’s Death Proof features Kurt Russell and his kick ass car. In between the features are fake trailers for more grind house productions from the likes of Eli Roth (Hostel), Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and Rob Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects). Grindhouse sees a wide release on April 6. |
