We don’t usually consider DVD announcements as big news, but I’m going to make an exception this time. Almost every critic on the site has tried to promote Crash this year with every voice they have, from my weekly podcast, to The Film Habit, to the Weekend Box Office reports. Because we’re all big fans of such a fabulous, touching, but sadly limited released movie, I figure it’s right in line with what we’ve done already to announce its DVD release.

Crash will be hitting DVD in less than a month, on September 6th. Included on the DVD will be a director’s introduction and commentary, and a making of featurette.

While I’m sure this will be something we review, I urge you not to wait for that to determine if you want to see this. If you missed the movie in theaters you owe it to yourself to catch it on DVD. If you saw it in theaters, most likely you already know how powerful the movie is, and are already planning to pick the DVD up.
