Crimes Of Fashion![]()
Al Pacino is my hero. He can scream at the top of his lungs in every movie, and yet, I never tire of seeing (or hearing) him. I even sat through S1m0ne which was a true test of loyalty. With the exception of that cyber-disaster, he hasn't truly sold out yet even though he's inching towards retirement. Unlike some people, *cough* Deniro *cough*.
According to Variety, Pacino will star in an upcoming remake of a French heist thriller from 1955, called Rififi-- not to be confused with the name of the monkey from The Lion King. The movie will be directed by Harold Becker, who has collaborated with Pacino on past projects including City Hall. Rififi is about a career thief who finally gets out of prison, only to discover that his wife has left him. Depressed by this realization, he returns to the life of crime, plotting a jewelry store heist. The original version of the movie is best remembered for a 30-minute robbery sequence with no scripted dialogue or music. Sounds very....oh sorry, I dozed off for a moment. Scott Steindorff will back this classic movie that I've never heard of through Stone Village Pictures. Hoo-ah! |
