Daily Show's Senior British Correspondent Gets A Movie Deal image
The Daily Show has taken over SNLís former reputation as the breeding ground for big screen comedic actors. Between Ed Helms and Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert and Demetri Martin, The Daily Show is perhaps the place for new comedic talent. Unfortunately, what that means is that every few months, Jon Stewart has to hire new staff to replace people that go on to bigger and better things.

The latest cast member to start his transition to Hollywood is John Oliver, The Daily Showís in-house British correspondent. He and Daily Show writer Rory Albanese have been tapped for a blind script deal with Paramount. Talking to THR, Oliver gave few details as to the what the script will be about. ďWe pitched it as being the most critically acclaimed and profitable movie in Hollywood history," he said.

Oliverís brand of sarcasm has been one of the best parts of The Daily Show ever since he joined the cast, and itís likely heíll bring that same tone to whatever he writes. If thatís the case, thereís a lot to get excited about. Everything sounds funnier in a British accent.
