Dancing Back For Dirty Seconds

By Mack Rawden: 2007-04-24 01:18:35
Dancing Back For Dirty Seconds Let’s have an honest discussion, a little frank chit-chat between total strangers. None of your friends are reading, and I’ll make sure they don’t find out and incessantly mock you for what you’re about to admit. You love Dirty Dancing. In fact, you probably wish you were Johnny Castle dancing with the smokin’ hot Baby. How do I know this? Well, maybe because I, too, wish I was Patrick Swayze. If he was here right now, he’d probably out dance me and then kick my ass with some crazy Road House roundhouse kicks. There’s just something mesmerizing about that combination.

There has been a serious dearth of cinematic Swayze lately, and thankfully, Lionsgate has taken notice. The film distribution company will band together with National CineMedia’s Fathom to re-release the 80s dance classic into three hundred American theatres. The tickets will cost a slim ten dollars a piece, but how can you put a price on Jennifer Grey’s arousing hips and come-hither eyes? You can’t.

The movie will re-premiere on May 1st and May 2nd to commemorate the 20th anniversary. Each screening will feature a twenty minute behind the scenes documentary on the history and lasting impact of the film. Let’s hope it also contains never released footage of Ferris Bueller’s sister gyrating like she has shaken-baby-syndrome.

I know where I’ll be on May 1st, and I strongly suggest you put your ego aside and join me.
