Daniel Radcliffe To Join Jay And Seth Vs. The Apocalypse?
Daniel Radcliffe has his work cut out for him. In 2011 it will be 10 years since he became the face of the Harry Potter franchise. But with the last installment due out next summer, he will have to find a new image if he wants to continue his career. He's already made some steps, joining the cast of the horror film Woman in Black and discussing a role in the remake of the classic war film All Quiet On The Western Front, but now he may go in a whole new direction: comedy.
Entertainment Biz! reports that Radcliffe is being pursued for and has shown interest in joining the cast of Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse. Based on a trailer that Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel made in film school, the film sees the two titular characters trying to survive living together in a post-apocalyptic world. Seth Rogen confirmed that the project it happening during this year's Comic Con. When reached for comment, Radcliffe's people neither confirmed nor denied the story, saying that Radcliffe is currently only signed on to the aforementioned horror film and the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
While we typically know him as the super-serious lightning-scarred wizard, Radcliffe has demonstrated a sense of humor in the past, most notably in an episode of Ricky Gervais' HBO show Extras, in which he played a very slanted version of himself. It's hard to tell where another character would have place in the Baruchel-Rogen comedy based on the trailer, but they must have something. For those uninitiated, check out the trailer for Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse below.
