Danny Boyle's Trance Gets A Stylish, Thrilling New Trailer
Okay, so this brand new green band trailer for Danny Boyle's upcoming thriller Trance, courtesy of Apple, isn't as visceral or bloody as the red band trailer that came out just last month - it's missing certain shots of James McAvoy getting his fingernails pulled out and Vincent Cassel talking while missing half of his head - but can you deny that this is one hell of a cool trailer? Boyle has an amazing track record of beautiful, visually stylistic and that's undeniably on full display here. One can only imagine what the full feature will deliver.
This is actually the second helping of Trance that we've recieved today, as just a few hours ago we got to see a cool behind the scenes featurette about the heist film/hypnosis thriller, and hopefully we'll see plenty more as we inch closer and closer to the movie's April 5th theatrical debut (though, sadly, the film is only going to be in limited release). The finished product has certainly taken a long time to get here, as post-production wasn't completed until after Boyle wrapped up his commitments to the 2012 London Olympic Games, but now that it's almost here we just can't get enough.
In the film, McAvoy stars as Simon, an art auctioneer who teams with a group of criminals led by a man named Franck (Vincent Cassel) to steal Francisco Goya's "Witches In The Air." But when the heist goes wrong, the painting goes missing and the only person who knows where it is, Simon, is left with memory loss that has erased the prize's location from his mind. In an attempt to get the missing memories back, Simon begins to attend hypnotherapy sessions with a woman named Dr. Elizabeth Lamb (Rosario Dawson), but as the sessions continue everyone involved begins to question who is really in charge of the operation.
