Frank Darabont’s latest Stephen King adaptation just took another step forward. The Hollywood Reporter says he’s added two more people to the cast of The Mist.
Marcia Gay Harden and Toby Jones join a cast already consisting of Thomas Jane, Andre Braugher, Laurie Holden and Amin Joseph. Darabont’s script adapts the King story about a Main town attacked by deadly creatures after the passage of a strange storm. In Dawn of the Dead style, a group of survivors barricade themselves in a supermarket.
Marcia Gay Harden will be an outspoken, divisive member of the trapped group. Jones will play the store’s mild-mannered yet ultimately heroic supermarket manager. Looks like the whole thing is already breaking down into stereotypes. I’d actually thought Darabont was better than that.
