After amassing over a billion dollars worldwide, the conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is preparing for an epic Blu-ray release. The film will hit Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download on December 4, and will even be available in a limited edition set that will feature a bat cowl. If you want to look a bit more in-depth at the goodies the Blu-ray set will feature, Warner Bros. is offering fans a first look at the set.

The trailer takes a look at some of the more epic moments in the final film, as well as points out some of the extras that will be present on the disc. Warner Bros. does seem to be trying to make a big point of the fact fans will be getting a Blu-ray copy, a DVD copy, and a digital copy with the release, but since that is becoming a pretty standard format for home releases, I’m surprised the company would take the focus away from the HD picture in the film. Rounding out the trilogy and the picture should really be the big focus of the releases, and both are a stunning payoff.

The trailer is calling The Dark Knight Rises “the Blu-ray event of the year,” and, while Prometheus and The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition singles Blu-rays would probably give the film a run for its money, it still very well could be. The set is jam-packed with over 3 hours of featurettes, including a look at the Batmobiles in the films, which is a really kitcshy extra. If you want to take a look at a few of the other extras the set will offer, check out Cinema Blend’s early look at the featurettes on the disc. Or just take a gander at the intense cover art, below.
