I’m starting to wish they’d picked some character besides The Joker to be the bad guy in The Dark Knight. People seem absolutely obsessed with him, nearly as obsessed as the marketing guys at Warner Brothers. At this point, I’m not even sure Batman is in The Dark Knight, it looks more like it’s a Joker vanity project that if he’s lucky, Batman might get a cameo in.

For instance yesterday in New York a bunch of corporately owned movie sites with fewer readers than us were shown the first six minutes of The Dark Knight in IMAX. It was all Joker footage. The guys over at UGO have posted a description of what they saw, and basically it’s a six-minute bank heist led by the Joker. They have nothing but glowing things to say about Ledger’s acting as the clown prince of crime, and say you’ll forget about all the other Jokers you’ve ever seen or heard, especially Jack Nicholson who let’s face it, sucked.

Meanwhile AICN has scored the first Dark Knight teaser poster. That’s a small version of it there to your right. See the big one over there. Again… it’s Jokerized. Alright, it’s kind of a cool gimmick, But please, Warner Brothers, promise me that at some point Christian Bale will actually be in this movie? Ya see, he’s the main reason I plan on buying a ticket.
