Pardon if I’m a little obsessed with David Tennant right now. The first of what will be one of his four last appearances as Doctor Who aired on BBC America tonight. In case you haven’t heard, he’s brilliant.

As Tennant’s stint as the iconic sci-fi character draws to a close, rumors have started swirling around what he’ll do next. For instance there was this wild story in the LA Times last week which hinted around that he might be a contender to play young Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming adaptation of The Hobbit. Well cross him off the list.

Dark Horizons attended the Doctor Who panel at Comic Con this past weekend where Tennant showed up and was slipped the obligatory Baggins question from fans. Tennant laughed off the rumors while at the same time leaving the door open in case del Toro should happen to get it in his head to call him (Get on the phone Guillermo! Like I said, he’s brilliant) by indicating that his schedule is pretty much wide open. He also put the nail in the coffin of any Doctor Who feature film rumors.

If like me you’re a huge Tennant fan, this is probably the most depressing story you’ll read all day. Now that it’s over with, your Monday can only get better from here. You’re welcome.
