Though the first trailer for Keanu Reeves’ remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still is currently showing in front of Hancock, it hasn’t officially made it online yet. Luckily, there are several pretty clear unofficial versions online. Watch it embedded below or in Quicktime over at FilmWeb.pl.
The trailer makes the whole thing look like it’s some strange version of The Mist. There are several shots of a mysterious, smoky fog rolling in and destroying things. At least I think there’s a fog. And there’s Keanu Reeves, attempting to look like an alien and instead looking mostly pale and sweaty. Here’s the trailer:
