Death of Fez
Following in the footsteps of “That 70’s Show” alumni Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher (jeez, doesn’t anyone on that show have a normal name?), Wilmer Valderrama has landed the lead role in El Muerto, an independent film adaptation of a comic book nobody has heard of. The movie tells the story of a twenty one year old boy who is abducted, sacrificed, and resurrected by the Aztec Gods of Death and Destiny. Why do I get the feeling this is the short, sexy, latin version of The Crow?
The independent film will be directed by Brian Cox (X-Men 2, Manhunter), marking his directorial debut. Larry Rattner of Peninsula Films will produce. To date, Valderrama is the only male cast member of “That 70’s Show” to not really branch out beyond the show, other than his newsworthy dating of Lindsay Lohan. He has several upcoming projects, including Darwin Awards with Winona Ryder and “Your Momma’s So Fat”, an MTV show where contestants talk smack about each other. None of the projects seem capable of reaching the level of fame of costar Ashton Kutcher, who is probably responsible for Valderrama’s best moment outside of “That 70’s Show”, when Kutcher pulled a prank and Wilmer watched as his tricked out car was destroyed before his eyes. The Crow... er, El Muerto currently does not have a production date set, but whenever it kicks off, Valderrama will be in it. |
