I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but everyone else is in bed with Election Fever.

Anyone who's anyone over the age of 20 got pretty hyped when the man behind X-Men, Tom DeSanto, announced that he was planning to bring 80s favourite Transformers to the big screen in full live-action glory. And why not, it was the dream of every boy who ever grew up with the series and the toys.

So after entrusting the man who adapted X-Men so well with our beloved childhood why has he gone and kicked us in our collective metaphorical nuts?

Someone decided that the best person to adapt DeSanto's story idea into a movie script is none other than John Rogers. The name doesn't ring a bell? Lucky for you - he was the man responsible for the excrutiatingly awful Catwoman.

I fully expect Pitof, Uwe Boll or Paul WS Anderson to be announced as director next.

The world's going to hell.
