You can’t stop the redneck movie movement. Larry the Cable Guy’s health inspecting adventure may have been a big flop last year, but Hollywood hasn’t given up on pushing the guys of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour into mainstream movies. This summer Lionsgate is release Delta Farce, with Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and DJ Qualls in the story of three guys who go to Mexico and think they’re in the middle of the Iraq war. They’re not bright.
The movie sounds a lot like a ripoff of the Chevy Chase/Martin Short/Steve Martin team up The Three Amigos, with Cable, Engvall, and Qualls as normal dudes deluded into thinking they’re soldiers and then forced to defend a Mexican village against raiders.
I don’t know if it will be funny, but Lionsgate is giving it a release date in the primes blockbuster months of summer, so apparently they believe in it. They’ve just sent us three new character posters for the film, and while I really want to hate the movie I have to admit the posters are at least kind of creative. They’re worth a look. Click on the thumbnails below to see each of the three posters in high-res.
