Details Compiled For G.I. Joe Movie Everyone’s going ga-ga over a piece on the G.I. Joe movie being run by Access Hollywood. Of course, as the site’s apparent G.I. Joe fan, that means I jumped at the chance to report on it. I have to admit a certain disappointment at what AH is reporting though, because it’s pretty much just a comprehensive collection of the news everyone has been reporting for weeks, most of which you can find right here.

In case you’ve missed it, we’ve seen Snake Eyes, the ninja favorite for the G.I. Joe team. Director Stephen Sommers talked a bit about the appeal of Snake Eyes, while explaining this is an origin picture. Expect to find out why Snake Eyes doesn’t talk, and why Destro wears that chrome dome facemask.

Meanwhile, actor Denis Quaid is excited about the movie because it goes back to his childhood. What you don’t find out from AH is that Quaid won’t see much action in this first movie.

The piece also provides a comprehensive cast list which leaves out a few members. Are these people no longer cast, or is AH just not keeping up?

To be fair, there are a couple of new tidbits in their story. Sienna Miller, who was seen filming as a blond, confirms the use of a black wig, so it appears her character, The Baroness, will maintain its iconic appearance. She also talks about one of the challenges with working with the weaponry: ”I've got a rubber gun at home that looks so real. I'm learning how to spin it. I've had it in my car while driving, and I'm terrified I might be pulled over because it looks like a proper gun.”

Meanwhile, Channing Tatum, who appears in this weekend’s war film Stop-Loss, says he’s no longer worried about doing too many war movies because G.I. Joe is not a war movie: I was afraid it was going to be a real war film, and actually it's nothing like that-- it's X-Men with Mission Impossible."

If you ask me, right now the best new information on G.I. Joe is over at IESB, with Aaron Williams’ Full Frontal Nerdity taking a stab at what we’ll see on screen and the concern that the movie’s story is going to suffer with so much stuff crammed in. That certainly plays on Tatum’s remark about the movie more than anything else we’ve seen.

So now you know the details about the G.I. Joe movie (which are pretty much the same details you’ve seen if you’ve been paying attention along the way), and knowing is half the battle – and yes, the G.I. Joe catchphrase will be in the movie somewhere, but we’ll all have to wait and see when and where.
