Now that their future with Disney is locked in Pixar has a lot of movies in production, but the one that seems to be raising the most questions is a little known project called WALL-E, or maybe it’s W.A.L.L.E.. Or it could be W.A.L.-E.. There’s just not much known about it yet, except for an uncertain title which has been circulating for months on Pixar fan sites around the net.

Today we finally get a few more details to go with the confusing title. In a post on the fan site Pixar Planet, one of their readers claims to have actually seen an image from the film at a conference this summer.

Pixar Planet’s reader says that while he didn’t get any plot specifics, the star of the movie is a robot in outer space. He claims the look of the robot is reminiscent of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, ironic considering that there have been rumors of Johnny getting a resurrection recently. Think Johnny 5 with big tires. As for the title, the rumor is that it has something to do with the Robot. It’s either what he is, or maybe it’s his name. Each letter in the title is supposed to stand for something specifically.

So why pay attention to what a random poster on a message board has to say about it? Well you probably shouldn’t. But this does confirm some earlier rumors about the nature of the film which we reported on here. We’re starting to get at least some indication of what WALL-E. may be about.

To add further confirmation to all of this, animation news site AWN also claims that the film is about robots, and adds that the movie will be directed by Finding Nemo’s Andrew Stanton. Pixar is pushing this thing ahead, they’re targeting a June 27, 2008 as WALL-E’s release date.
