Christmas movies just aren’t what they used to be. We used to have It’s A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story to bring in the holiday cheer, and now we get duds like Surviving Christmas and Christmas With The Kranks.

It doesn’t look like that trend is going to change any time soon. According to Variety, Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick are starring in the new holiday movie All Lit Up for New Regency and 20th Century Fox. Before you get too excited, the film reunites writer Don Rhymer and director John Whitesell, who previously collaborated on Big Momma’s House 2.

All Lit Up is about two neighbors (Devito and Broderick) who live in a small New England town. They start a rivalry when one decides to decorate his house for the holidays so brightly…that it can be seen from space. Production begins next month, and a December release date is slated. Something tells me you’ll need to be pretty lit to enjoy this one.
