Die Hard Upgraded![]()
Every time you think Bruce Willis is getting out of the game, he gets pulled back in. Sadly, he gets pulled back in to the same movie franchise, but at least it’s one of the better action franchises out there.
A fourth Die Hard movie is back in the rumor mill this week, dubbed Die Hard 4.0 (because urban cowboy John McClane was always such a computer geek). According to a story being run by Moviehole, casting has begun and director’s names are being bandied about. The most prominent name on the list? Bruce’s Fifth Element director, Luc Besson. I have no doubt Besson would bring an interesting element to the movie (no pun intended), although we do have to remember he was part of the force behind the Jimmy Fallon/Queen Latifah powerhouse Taxi. According to Moviehole’s studio insider contact, part of the script is in need of changes due to Hurricane Katrina (part of the movie was to take place in New Orleans) and poor feedback from fans and pirates who’ve already gotten their hands on the script. No worries about minor issues like that though. Fox is apparently pushing for an end of 2006 DVD release for the film, so expect the movie to hit theaters by next summer. No director? No script? No problem for the studio that’s pushing X-Men 3 to go up against its former director’s big movie. |
