Why is it that the minute we humans get our hands on any kind of new filmmaking technology, we immediately use it to make dinosaurs? Steven Spielberg combined cutting-edge models and CGI to make the memorable Jurassic Park, Disney used CGI animation to make the far less memorable Dinosaurs, and now Mike Medavoy and FremantleMedia Enterprises are taking on the latest technology gimmick: 3D.

They've actually got a lot more up their sleeves than movies, though. According to Variety, Dinosaurs: Resurrected will encompass both an HD TV show (each week a new dino? I don't get it) as well as a narrative 3D feature. There are obviously a lot of questions that Variety is not answering in the article, including how the TV show and movie will relate to each other, and how there are more stories to tell about dinosaurs after approximately 50 Land Before Time movies.
