Direction: Impossible

discussioncomments published: 2004-07-19 00:00:00 Author: Bill Beyrer
Just one month before it’s scheduled to start shooting, Director Joe Carnahan (Narc) has backed out of Mission:Impossible III.

The flick was originally under the direction of David Fincher who jumped ship to work on Lords of Dogtown, only to back out of that too. Carnahan is said to have stepped down due thanks to “creative differences”. Meaning roughly, Tom Cruise pissed him off somehow. Directorless, the flick will still go underway as scheduled. Shooting begins sometime in August in the heart of Deutchland.

Producers, Cruise and Paula Wagner, and Paramount will announce a replacement soon after a series of interviews with a half dozen other helmers waiting in the wings. Mission:Impossible III hits theatres June 29, 2005.
