MOVIE NEWS
Direction for Transformers?![]()
It's never a sure thing reporting an exclusive from certain internet websites, especially when it's April fools day, but sometimes the news is just a little too interesting (and franky plausible) not to pass it on. AICN is declaring that Michael Bay is top of the list to direct the upcoming Transformers movie.
Plausible? Sure. Transformers will potentially be just the kind of action film that Bay has built his career on. Being in post-production for The Island he could easily slip into the job, maybe even pull off this 2006 release date that is being suggested. Furthermore, the current duo working on the Transformers script (last we heard anyway) also penned The Island. OK, that's not totally relevant, but it's an interesting tidbit. This news likely comes as something of a relief to CB fans who have been dreading for months the possibility that Roland Emmerich would be allowed anywhere near the project. We'll have to wait and see. If this does turn out to be a joke, blame it on poor taste. The folks at AICN seem sincere about this one. |
