Ever wished you could take what you see in movies and make it real? What if you had a magical movie projector that could do just that? The Hollywood Reporter notes the concept has been launched at Disney, and they've bought in to get the idea underway.

It's got to be a dream come true for the duo who pitched Disney the idea for the family fantasy, tentatively titled Reel to Real. Neither Eric Saiet nor Andrea Maywhort-Scully have ever written a screenplay for the big screen before.

The concept seems similar to last year's Bedtime Stories, in which Adam Sandler's bedtime tales magically came to life, except this time there's a magic movie projector required. That project was also pitched by a newbie writer who was joined by one of Sandler's favored writing partners.

One possible appeal in the concept is the 3D angle, Disney's new favored presentation style. What better story to set in a format that seems to make the movie jump off the screen than one about stuff actually jumping off the screen? Gimmicky? Sure, but Disney's pretty good at gimmicky and audiences love to pay to see it.

Of course it's way too soon for casting news, but it's never too soon for wild speculation. Now that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has sold over his career to making mediocre kiddy entertainment, he'd be a good candidate for a father of the family that picks up the magic projector. And Tim Allen is always up for a Disney role. I vote him for the creepy old pawn-shop owner that sells it to him.
