New Django Unchained TV Spot Gives Samuel L. Jackson Some Screentime
Last week we got two new trailers for the upcoming Rian Johnson sci-fi action film Looper. The time travel story of a man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who has to hunt down and kill a version of himself from 30 years in the future (Bruce Willis) looks absolutely amazing and the film is right near the top of my most anticipated list for the rest of 2012. In fact, only two movies beat it: Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises and Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Now a new extended television spot for the latter title has arrived online and it has only reaffirmed my feelings.
Posted over at Yahoo!, the new spot has a lot of the same footage shown in last month's trailer, but there are some new things mixed in, such as a new scene with Leonardo DiCaprio and our first real look at Samuel L. Jackson's character. Check it out, will you?
This TV spot comes right on the heels of the announcement that the Tarantino film would be present at this year's San Diego Comic Con, which should be one of the highlights of the event. A bunch of us from Cinema Blend will be down in San Diego for the entire weekend, covering every single minute of the event including the Django Unchained panel. So get ready!
The film is about an escaped slave named Django (Jamie Foxx) who teams up with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to kill the three men that imprisoned Django's wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) and sold her to the evil plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). The film has far too many co-stars to list here, but you can see that and a whole bunch more from the movie in our Blend Film Database.
