Dominic Monaghan Is Wolverine's Electro-Man

By Josh Tyler: 2008-02-22 01:58:21
Dominic Monaghan Is Wolverine's Electro-Man Wolverine has another a new running buddy. It’s Charlie from Lost. HR says Dominic Monaghan has joined the cast of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to play a character named Barnell.

Here’s where things get a little bit interesting. The only Barnell in Marvel’s comic history is a guy named Barnell Bohusk, aka Beak, a mutant with the power to turn into some sort of giant bird. It’s not pretty. Just Jared, who also claims to have the scoop on this same story, says it’s this character that Monaghan is playing. That seems kind of lame, so luckily HR disagrees.

Instead they say this Barnell character is actually “a former military ally of Logan with the power to harness energy and electricity.” He’s kind of like Jim Varney in Ernest Goes To Jail, and that sounds infinitely much cooler than watching Dominic grow some sort of grotesque beak as his super power. Though perhaps it’d be kind of fun watching him try to peck his enemies to death, I think I’d rather watch him shoot lightning out of his fingernails while belting out a rousing chorus of “You All Everybody”.

Also joining the cast of Wolverine is Doug Henney. He’s a character who goes by the name Agent Zero, another member of the Weapon X program that turned Wolverine into Wolverine, and the team’s tracker and mutant marksman.
