Donnie Art-Ko
Six flicks. Alien, The Exorcist, Apocalypse Now, and the Star Wars Trilogy. All of them took nearly or more than 20 years to produce a theatrically released "Director's Cut" of sorts. When you think of those six flicks you think of thier sheer cinematic brilliance or thier insanely huge popularity. Well nearly 3 years, yeah that's right 3 years, after it's initial (Limited) Cinematic release, Donnie Darko is getting the same treatment.
I've seen the flick. I just don't get this little underground following this flick's gotten, usually I get why most indies are so friggin' cool but that all changed after I fell victim to the Lost in Translation hype machine. I'm gonna shut up now, I'm supposed to be impartial (not really, but for now I am). But the New Poster for this summer's re-release is now out and about. So without further ado, here's the axe-happy Gyllenhaal Art. Look for Donnie Darko: Director's Cut in theatres this summer.
