Adam Sandler has co-written a porn comedy. Luckily he’s not making it with The Weinstein Company, so there’s a good chance people may show up to see it. The movie’s called Born to be a Star, and Sony Pictures has added Stephen Dorff to the cast opposite Nick Swarsdon and Christina Ricci.

Swarsdon his a small-town nerd who discovers his parents are legendary porn stars and follows in their footsteps. Ricci plays his innocent girlfriend and Dorff will play “Dick Shadow”, porn star. Great porn name. I liked the part where it uses the word “Dick”, but as a name so it’s not dirty.

The Dorffman’s star has fallen a bit since his brief, top of the heap popularity in the 90s. He was in Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center back in 2006, but did anyone see that? Not really. For the most part the former Blade bad guy has been stuck making his way with unheralded direct to DVD sequels. Don’t worry Stephen, you can always fall back on porn to turn it around.
