MOVIE NEWS
Dorks in Tights![]()
I consider myself a pretty open-minded guy but let’s be honest; figure skating is just too gay for us real men. Thankfully, Ben Stiller realizes this and shall give us real men a great way to con the women into seeing Blades of Glory. It’s genius! We can tell our lady friends that we want to take them to a movie about figure skating and they’ll love us for it. However, with Will Ferrell and Jon Heder from the terribly overrated Napoleon Dynamite, we know Stiller will give plenty of opportunity to mock this pseudo sport for the effeminately inclined.
Dreamworks and Stiller's Red Hours Film have not announced a release date yet for Glory. We do know the basic premise of the movie though. Ferrell and Heder portray two male figure skating rivals who were banned for fighting during the Winter Games. Years later, when the two rivals discover a loophole, they join forces and compete in the pairs figure skating division. Boy this could really suck. I’m talking worse than Kicking and Screaming suckness. Yet, Ferrell in tights has an effect on me. Okay that didn’t come across the way I intended. I have faith that Stiller, Ferrell, and the vote for Pedro idiot can make this insipid sounding plot an hour and a half gag fest. We can hope! This story can be misleading when you see words like "Dreamworks" and "Ben Stiller" involved in this project. Josh Gordon and Will Speck will direct the film. Who are these guys? Apparently, they are commercial directors whose only IMDB credit is 1998 film short, Culture, which was nominated for an Oscar. I mean, congrats and all, but what have you done in the past seven years to convince executives to turn this film over to you? Check that. Maybe I don't want to know. I'm sure some Ifilm loving geek will send me hate mail soon with the answer to my last question. I can't wait! Credit: The Hollywood Reporter |
