Successful solo singer Beyonce Knowles is miles away from her rocky Destiny’s Child days, and the days of Foxxy Cleopatra, for that matter. The singer is proud to announce that she had a great time on the set of Dreamgirls and wants to continue knocking on Hollywood’s door.
That’s right—she loved the experience of working with Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and director Bill Condon so much, that she wants to make more movies. A singer that wishes to be taken seriously as an actress? I had no idea such a phenomenon existed.
Besides her chance to play a meaty role in the form of Diana Ross…er, Deena Jones, what provoked all the fond memories? "I got to work with the best actors. They are so polished and so supportive. Usually, when you have Oscar-winning actors, sometimes they are not so supportive. But I could just watch and learn," she told Prestige Hong Kong magazine, as relayed on MSN.
She added, "It was a great vibe…Everyone was just happy to be involved in the movie."
Dreamgirls hits theaters on Dec. 25 (merry Christmas!) and is buzzing with, well, Oscar buzz. The people have spoken, and the verdict is in: they love musicals—except for really bad ones, like last year’s remake of The Producers. But we’re all trying to forget about that one.
