Steven Spielberg is starting to rival Quentin Tarantino in terms of talking up projects that he never has any intention of making. There's the Lincoln biopic lingering in there somewhere, there's a Gershwin biopic in the works too, and then there's the sci-fi side of Spielberg's personality in Robopocalypse, Deadline Hollywood reports that people are speculating that will actually be Spielberg's next project, but as usual with the guy who can do pretty much whatever he wants at this point, nobody knows for sure.

What we do know, though, is that Cloverfield screenwriter Drew Goddard has been brought on to handle the script, which suggests things might actually be moving forward. Then again, the book that the movie will be based on isn't actually finished yet-- author Daniel H. Wilson is still finishing up his story about humans surviving the robot uprising. So honestly, we could see Spielberg's first installment in the Tin Tin series before any of these move forward. I guess the guy has earned the right to be as indecisive as he pleases, but come on!
