2007 hasn’t been the best year for Owen Wilson. Even with the acclaimed Wes Anderson picture The Darjeeling Limited in his corner, obviously not everything was going well for Wilson, who attempted suicide a few months ago. Hopefully 2008 will be a better year for the star, and we’re getting the first look at advertising for his first picture for next year, Drillbit Taylor.
The movie features Wilson as a low-budget bodyguard. How low-budget? He’s hired by two kids to protect them from the neighborhood bully. Rather than playing up the kid angle of the picture, however, the movie poster is displaying Wilson in all his glory in the middle of a kick. Of course, the tagline takes care of the rest: “You Get What You Pay For”. While it’s a silly concept, I have to admit I’m actually anticipating the movie, and this poster makes me laugh a little. Let’s hope the movie does the same.
Head over to IMP Awards who has a fairly decent sized shot of the poster.
