Dunst Reunites With Gondry

By Josh Tyler: 2006-05-18 00:00:00
Dunst Reunites With Gondry Michel Gondry wants Kirsten Dunst for his next project, Be Kind Rewind. Already on board is Jack Black, and Kirsten is in negotiations to co-star according to the Hollywood Reporter.

You may remember Rewind as the film that gives Gondry an excuse to have Jack Black re-enact the greatest movies in cinema history. Black plays a guy who tries to sabotage a power plant he thinks is melting his brain. His sabotage attempt goes poorly, and ends up erasing all the videotapes in the store where his best friend works. To save the store, he and his friend decide to re-enact and re-record every movie that’s been erased, in order to keep the struggling video store’s one elderly customer.

No word yet on exactly who Kirsten would play in the film. I can’t see her as Jack Black’s best friend, she’ll probably fit in as some random, quirky love interest. She’ll be a non-factor.

If she signs up, this would be Kirsten’s second time working for Gondry. She had some memorable underwear moments in Gondry’s previous movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The next place you’ll see Kirsten is in Sofia Coppola’s new, surreal looking movie Marie-Antoinette. It opens in the United States this October.
