MOVIE NEWS
Early to Bed, Early to Rise Those true beleivers out there will be comfortable knowing that this Thursday night Pixar animated flick The Incredibles will hold midnight screenings all around the country. With the new Star Wars teaser attached, it’s almost certain that the Midnight madness might cause a stir.
The sequel to the 2000 hit Bridget Jones’s Diary will open in select cities on November 12th and expand on the 19th rather than just open up on the 19th. Quite obviously they trying to pull in some money before Alexander swoops in on Turkey Day. The already crowded November 12th slot will pit The Edge of Reason against CG Tom Hanks, a Peirce Brosnan jewel heist, a limited Johnny Depp, and Chucky spewing his Seed. Where as the 19th just had Nic Cage with treasure and Spongebob with Squarepants. Honestly, was this a smart move?
Finally, this upcoming Saturday, New Line will Sneak Preview their new flick After the Sunset. The flick stars Peirce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, Woody Harrelson, Don Cheadle and is directed by Rush Hour’s Brett Ratner. It officially opens in theatres next week.
Midnight screenings are nothing, 9 time out of 10 they happen every other week anyway. But it’s the Revenge of the Sith mob out there who may get a kick out of hearing it. As far as Miramax throwing out Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason...That’s 2 movies in one weekend. That and Finding Neverland. It seems just strange. It may hurt them in the long run. Sneak previews are always just a way to butter up the studio’s last dud. With Raise Your Voice not striking a big chord, can you blame New Line for doing this? The Incredibles hits theatres this Friday (at midnight) and After the Sunset & Bridget’s New Diary start November 12th. ![]() Fan Mail? Hate Mail?. SUBMIT A SCOOP |
