Easy A Director Hired To Direct Sex On The Moon![]()
Last year there was no film that surprised me more than the Will Gluck-directed Easy A. Though from the outside it looked like your typical dumb high school comedy, it actually had a lot of heart and was bolstered by a fantastic turn by Emma Stone. As a result, I've found myself interested in watching Gluck's career trajectory, and now I'm happy to report that he's landed one of the more odd-ball films I've reported on this year.
The LA Times is reporting that the director has been hired to helm Sex on the Moon, based on the book by Ben Mezrich. As reported back in January, the book was picked up after the massively successful adaptation of Mezrich's The Accidental Billionaires, also known as The Social Network. Based on a true story, the book tells the tale of a NASA employee who decides that the best way to impress a girl is by stealing moon rocks from the Johnson Space Center. Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, the producers behind The Social Network, are also lined up behind this project. Gluck's next film, Friends With Benefits, will be released on July 22, and it will be interesting to see if Easy A was just a fluke or the sign of something real. Can't be any worse than No Strings Attached, right? |
